Loretta Jane Swit was an American stage and television actress. She was widely known for her character roles, prominently her role as Major Margaret "Hot Lips" Houlihan on M*A*S*H, for which she was nominated in each season of the long-running show, and winning two Emmy Awards in 1980 and 1982.
