Vijaynagar is the remotest circle tehsil of Changlang district in the northeastern state of Arunachal Pradesh of India. In 1961-1962 expedition led by Assam Rifles, Maj.Gen A.S Gauraya found virgin (uninhabitant) strategic corner of Indian territory between three sided border of Burma (Myanmar) named as Vijaynagar by the name of his son "Vijay". Thereafter settlement process initiated after nod by NEFA now Arunachal Pradesh, Central and Assam Rifles where 200 families of Assam Rifles soldiers were settled. Vijaynagar is a cluster of 12 villages, Ramnagar, Chididi, Majgoan,Two-hut, Budhamandir, Phaparbari, Daragoan, Gehrigaon,Topi-Hill, Preeti Nagar, Hazolo, Dawadi on the border with Myanmar, 157 km (98 mi) by foot from the nearest motorable road in India.
