Rupa Asha Huq is a British Independent MP, columnist and academic. Elected as the Labour Member of Parliament (MP) for Ealing Central and Acton at the 2015 general election, she was formerly a senior lecturer in sociology at Kingston University. Huq was suspended by the Labour Party in September 2022 pending an investigation into alleged racist comments made at a conference fringe event.
