United Progressive Alliance

Indian political party

United Progressive Alliance    ▸ Facts   ▸ Comments   ▸ News   ▸ Videos

United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is a coalition of left and centre-left political parties in India formed after the 2004 general election. The largest member party of the UPA is the INC, whose National President Sonia Gandhi is chairperson of the UPA. It formed a government with support from some other left-aligned parties in 2004. However the UPA lost major popularity in the 2014 General Elections after many members of the UPA were accused or convicted in various scams and scandals.
