Yoenis Céspedes Milanés, nicknamed La Potencia, is a Cuban-born professional baseball outfielder for the New York Mets of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut on March 28, 2012, for the Oakland Athletics, and has also played in MLB for the Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers. Primarily a left fielder in his early career, he has split between left and center field since joining the Mets. A right-hand batter and fielder, he stands 5 feet 10 inches (1.78 m) tall and weighs 220 pounds (100 kg).
