Airport major Adani enters aircraft leasing space after AI & IndiGo

IndiaTimes Wednesday, 25 October 2023
The Adani Group has entered the aircraft leasing industry by opening a company in Ahmedabad's Gift City, following the lead of Air India and IndiGo. Adani Ports has created Udanvat Leasing IFSC Ltd with a share capital of Rs 2.5 crore. India's growing aviation market has prompted the government to incentivize aircraft leasing, traditionally done by Indian carriers from foreign shores. Air India recently became the first Indian airline to acquire an aircraft from a company registered in Gujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City), and IndiGo plans to set up a subsidiary at IFS Gift City for aircraft leasing.
