NMDC kicks off gold mining project in Australia

Navratna miner NMDC Ltd has initiated gold mining operations at Mount Celia in Western Australia, led by its subsidiary Legacy Iron Ore Ltd. The commencement of ore mining at the Blue Peter pits within Legacy's Mount Celia Gold Project is expected to begin within the next two to three months. For the 66-year-old mining company, NMDC said it adds a new geography and a new mineral to its portfolio and will go a long way in helping India’s mining sector build self-reliance.
