Global EV sales stay strong, China hits record: Study
Tuesday, 14 November 2023 China has reported record monthly electric-vehicle (EV) sales in October, despite the end of subsidies. Local authorities have continued to offer aid and tax rebates to attract investments and subsidize consumers. EV sales in China increased by 29% in September, while the global EV market grew by 34%. The market research firm, Rho Motion, predicts that 2023 will be another strong year for EV sales in China. In Europe, EV sales grew by 26%, but the cutting of subsidies has affected demand, especially in Germany.
