I could be in England for years, Nirav Modi tells UK court

Nirav Modi, the fugitive diamond merchant wanted in India on fraud and money laundering charges, stated in a UK court that ongoing proceedings may delay his extradition and keep him in England for a long time. He appeared in court via video link from prison to address unpaid fines amounting to GBP 150,247. Nirav, who is currently on remand, mentioned that he remains un-convicted and is in prison due to an extradition request from the Indian government.
