UK announces almost £30 bn of private investment at CEO summit

Prime Minister Rishi Sunak announced £29.5 billion of private funding for new UK projects at the 2023 Global Investment Summit. This investment will create 12,000 jobs in tech, life sciences, renewables, housing, and infrastructure. Sunak stated that attracting global investment is essential for growing the economy. BioNTech Laboratories will invest £1 billion in research and development in Cambridge and London. Nissan also plans to invest £2 billion in electric car production in the UK.
