Mumbai airport 2023: Single-day air and passenger traffic hits a new high

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai broke its previous record by handling over a thousand flights per day in 2023. On November 25, the airport observed its highest passenger traffic movement with 167,132 passengers. Significant developments included the introduction of Taxiway Z, the commissioning of the Disabled Aircraft Recovery Kit (Dark), and the installation of 2D Barcode readers. CSMIA aims to be net-zero by 2029 and received recognition for its sustainability efforts through the Platinum Rating in the Green Airports Recognition (GAR) Programme.
