Can't enforce IT freshers' 'non-competes': Experts

Indian IT companies are coercing campus hires into signing unenforceable non-compete clauses. Companies like TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCLTech, and Tech Mahindra have non-compete clauses ranging from 6-12 months. The Indian Contract Act prohibits agreements that restrain trade, making post-employment non-competes void. However, employers may claim compensation for loss due to violation.
