Starbucks bets big on India; plans to operate 1,000 stores in the market by 2028

American coffee chain Starbucks plans to operate 1,000 stores in India by 2028 as the firm attempts to expand its footprint in one of its fastest growing markets globally. The Seattle-based company which operates in India through an equal joint venture with Tata Consumer Products currently runs 390 outlets in the country. In a statement issued on Tuesday, the firm claimed that its store strategy for the market will basically translate into one new store opening every three days.
