Meta’s Sheryl Sandberg to leave board after 12 years

Sheryl Sandberg, former COO of Meta Platforms Inc, will step down from the board this year. She joined Facebook in 2008 and played a crucial role in turning the social network into a major advertising company. Sandberg plans to serve as an adviser to Meta going forward. During her time at the tech giant, which also owns Instagram and WhatsApp, Sandberg was key to turning the social network into a money-making machine and one of the world’s biggest companies.
