Smallcap selloff brings worst day in two years for Indian stocks

Indian stock markets have experienced significant declines, with small and mid-cap stock indices plummeting over 4%, and the main S&P BSE Sensex Index falling 1.2%, eliminating gains made earlier in the month. The downturn affected nearly all 1,139 members of the S&P BSE AllCap Index. Specifically, the S&P BSE Small Cap Index saw a reduction in market value exceeding $40 billion in less than two weeks.
