Govt seeks to curb liquor companies’ surrogate advertisings

The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has directed liquor brands to abide by advertising regulations after uncovering instances of surrogate advertising violations. Companies are required to submit a list of brand extension products linked to alcohol beverages sold in the past three years. Additionally, the CCPA has requested revenue details for both alcobev sales and brand extension items like mineral water, playing cards, and music CDs over the same period.
