A. R. Rahman trained Egyptian singer Maryem Tollar to sing 'Mayya Mayya' for Abhishek Bachchan's "Guru." Rahman was inspired during a Hajj trip, hearing 'Moya Moya' (water in Arabic). He incorporated it into the song, later composed in Canada. The film's success revitalized Bachchan's career, leading to his marriage with Aishwarya Rai.
