Aashiqui rumours: Production house clears air

T-Series recently clarified rumors surrounding "Aashiqui 3," refuting any current involvement in its development. Contrary to previous reports, the production house emphasized that they have no intentions to revive the franchise independently. Any future projects related to "Aashiqui" would only proceed in collaboration with the Bhatts, the original rights holders of the film. The official statement firmly denied ongoing speculation suggesting otherwise, affirming their commitment to producing content jointly with Vishesh Films/Mukesh Bhatt. Additionally, they clarified that their proposed film, directed by Anurag Basu, is unrelated to the "Aashiqui" franchise. This announcement comes after the monumental success of the original "Aashiqui" in 1990, which catapulted Anu Aggarwal and Rahul Roy to stardom. The sequel in 2013, starring Aditya Roy Kapur and Shraddha Kapoor, further solidified the franchise's legacy with its widespread popularity.
