Aishwarya Rai Bachchan addressed the label "Bachchan Bahu" and its impact on her identity in a 2008 NDTV interview, stating she's merely Aishwarya Rai. She stressed her marriage to Abhishek was based on love, unrelated to the Bachchan surname's prestige. Amitabh Bachchan affectionately noted no change in family dynamics post their wedding.
