G7 updates: Ministers pledge to boost Ukraine's air defenses
Friday, 19 April 2024 () Foreign ministers from the G7 nations meeting in Italy have pledged to help Ukraine beef up its air defenses and seek to use frozen Russian assets to bolster Kyiv. DW has the latest.
Lord David Cameron says the UK is "once again absolutely leading the way" on the international stage in its support for Ukraine. The foreign secretary is visiting Kyiv after Prime Minister Rishi Sunak committed to giving the country Β£3bn every year "for as long as is necessary", as Russia's invasion continues. Cameron adds that the reccent US Congress vote to approve a $61bn aid package to Ukraine "should be celebrated". Report by Brooksl.
