Ebenezer Scrooge's prop gravestone from A Christmas Carol destroyed
Monday, 25 November 2024 A prop gravestone for Charles Dickens' character Ebenezer Scrooge which appeared in the 1984 film A Christmas Carol has been destroyed.
Police in Shrewsbury are investigating after vandals destroyed the iconic gravestone of Ebenezer Scrooge, a popular tourist attraction for nearly 40 years. Veuer’s Maria Mercedes Galuppo has the story.
Unpublished sketches featuring Charles Dickens have gone on public display for the first time at the Charles Dickens Museum in London. Frankie Kubicki, the museum’s Director, says the drawings reveal Dickens’s love of theatre, with scenes from amateur plays staged at his home and appearances by his daughter Mamie and close friends.
