Republic Day is round the corner and the nation is gearing up to display its military might, rich culture at the annual parade on Rajpath. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic, this year's Republic Day celebrations will be different from previous years. The number of participants will be lesser. This year, Rafale Jets of Indian Air Force will participate in the parade. Ladakh is all set to make its debut on Rajpath with a beautiful tableau depicting the iconic Thikse Monastery and its cultural heritage. Uttar Pradesh's tableau will showcase Ayodhya's cultural heritage and a model of Ram Temple being built in the city. Where the sacrifice of ninth Sikh Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur, will be depicted on Punjab's tableau, redevelopment work of Chandni Chowk will be displayed on the tableau of the national capital. 17 states and UTs tableaux will be displayed this year on January 26.

Surat-based diamond merchant donates Rs 11 crore for Ram temple construction in Ayodhya

A diamond merchant from Gujarat's Surat has made a contribution of Rs 11 crore for the construction of the Ram temple in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya. The diamond trader, Govind Dholakiya, belongs to the family of farmers. He studied till 7th standard and later started working in the diamond Industry. After working for a few years, Dholakiya decided to open up his own diamond company along with his friends.

Akshay Kumar contributes in construction of Ram Temple, urges countrymen to do the same

Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar on January 17 appealed countrymen to participate in the construction of the Ram Temple by donation. Akshay very gracefully turned his storytelling mode on and narrated a chunk of a story about Ram Setu and urged people to contribute in the construction of Ram Temple. Last year, the Supreme Court gave its historic decision on Ram Janmabhoomi-Babri Masjid case. The Apex Court gave its judgment in favour of Ram Temple. After that time, the route of construction of Ram Temple was cleared.

President Kovind donates over Rs 5 lakh for Ram Mandir construction

On Jan 15, President Ram Nath Kovind made the first contribution towards the construction of Ram Mandir, which is to be built in UP's Ayodhya. Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) working president, Alok Kumar said, "He is the first citizen of the country so we went to him to initiate this drive. He donated a sum of Rs 5,01,000." Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also made the contribution for construction of Ram Mandir. He handed over a cheque of Rs 1 lakh to a leader of Vishva Hindu Parishad. He said, "I am grateful to be part of such mission." Ram Mandir is to be built at the site of Ram Janmabhoomi in UP's Ayodhya.

New mosque in Ayodhya: Design revealed; bigger than Babri, and spherical

Design of a new mosque planned in Uttar Pradesh's Ayodhya was revealed on December 20. The UP Sunni Central Waqf Board unveiled the blueprint, work on which will begin once the Faizabad Panchayat District Board gives its approval. Apart from a mosque, the site will have a 300-bed specialty hospital and a museum. The 5-acre land was allotted by the state government following the Supreme Court's judgment in the Babri Masjid-Ram Janmabhoomi dispute. Watch the full video for more details.
