Teacher who 'eloped' with student booked in Rajasthan under Pocso Act

The 21-year-old teacher was produced in a local court and remanded in judicial custody for 15 days while the girl was handed over to the child welfare committee, as per the law. The duo had gone missing on June 30. With the minor's family alleging it to be a case of 'love jihad', the incident sparked protests in Sridungargarh town and adjoining areas, and right-wing outfits had even threatened Bikaner bandh on Wednesday.
