Manipur violence row: Reached out thrice, received no response from authorities, says NWC chairperson
Friday, 21 July 2023 National Commission for Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma today said she had reached out thrice in the last three months to authorities in Manipur over incidents of violence against women but no response was received from them.
Delhi police on Saturday detained former personal secretary of Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, Bibhav Kumar, in connection with the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Swati Maliwal assault case. In her complaint to the police, Maliwal alleged Kumar attacked her at Kejriwal’s residence on May 14 with “full force, slapping and kicking her in the chest and abdomen.” According to National Commission For Women (NCW) Chairperson Rekha Sharma, Kumar was ‘arrested’ from Kejriwal’s home.
