Travel advisory: Landslides disrupt traffic on busy Chandigarh-Shimla NH; take these alternative routes

Repeated landslides caused by heavy monsoon rains have made it difficult to restore road connectivity along the Chandigarh-Shimla national highway, with Solan police directing traffic along alternative routes to avoid congestion. Meanwhile, 330 roads have been closed in Himachal Pradesh, including two major four-lane highways, due to landslides and flash floods prompted by the heavy rains. Vikramaditya Singh, the state's Minister of Public Works Department, has thanked Union Minister Nitin Gadkari for announcing that Rs 400 crores will be given to the state to deal with the situation.
