Law ‘definitely in this financial year’: Himanta

Assam aims to have a law against polygamy in place “definitely within the current financial year” unless the proposed national Uniform Civil Code (UCC) materialises first, CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said on Sunday after an expert committee’s report endorsed the state legislature’s “legal competence” in the matter.
