The Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) in its report for the financial year ending March 31, 2022, tabled before the Uttarakhand assembly in the ongoing session on Wednesday, pointed out that "successive governments in the state used Rs 47,758 crore from 2005 to 2021 without the assembly's approval". Reacting to the report, the Uttarakhand government said that "not a single penny has been used without the consent of the assembly and the figure cropped by due to the different accounting conventions (guidelines to maintain business record) followed by CAG and the state government till 2021".
