Monday, 11 September 2023 Maratha quota protesters blocked the Nanded-Hyderabad highway by placing blazing tyres on the road and staging a sit-in, disrupting traffic for hours on Monday. Vehicles remained stranded on both sides of the four-lane highway for several kilometres in Nanded district.

On Wednesday, the Election Commission took action against former Telangana CM and BRS chief K Chandrashekar Rao, barring him from campaigning for 48 hours, effective from 8 pm today.
