SC rejects pleas seeking permission to allow manufacture of firecrackers containing barium, joint crackers

The Supreme Court denied requests to permit the production and sale of barium-containing firecrackers and joint fireworks, reaffirming its 2018 ban on traditional firecrackers to combat pollution. A bench of Justices A S Bopanna and M M Sundresh said the court has reiterated its ban on bursting of conventional firecrackers to curb pollution.
