Sikkim flash floods: HAM operators help 140 stranded student campers travel to Siliguri

A group of 140 Bharat Scouts & Guides members and 12 Surat tourists were rescued from West Sikkim with the help of amateur radio operators in Bengal. The group had been stranded due to adverse weather conditions and damaged roads. The operators managed to arrange transportation for them through lesser-known tracks, ensuring their safe arrival in Darjeeling and Siliguri. The radio club members formed a network and navigated the vehicles through difficult terrains to reach their destinations.
