2 Maoists killed in encounter ahead of Chhattisgarh assembly polls

Two Maoists were killed in a gun battle with security forces in the forests of Kanker district in Chhattisgarh. The encounter took place just two weeks before the district's elections. The security forces, including the district reserve guards, Bastar fighters, Border Security Force, and district police, were conducting search operations when they came under fire from the Maoists. The Maoists retreated into the forest after a few minutes of firing, leaving behind the bodies of their comrades. The search operation is still ongoing in the region.
