Baba Maharaj Satarkar, a prominent figure in Maharashtra who helped the masses understand the teachings of Lord Vitthal, passed away at the age of 87. Born into a family of worshippers of Lord Vitthal, Satarkar had the ability to articulate the writings of saints Dnyaneshwar and Tukaram. He popularized Kirtan, Pravachan, and Nirupan, and his teachings inspired hundreds of youths to turn towards these practices. Satarkar's discourses focused on the idea that life is a celebration and emphasized the importance of both God and life. His Kirtan music cassettes sold over ten lakh copies. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences and praised Satarkar's impact on society.
