NOTA option should be scrapped: Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has called for the scrapping of the NOTA (None of the Above) option on electronic voting machines. Baghel argued that sometimes NOTA receives more votes than the margin of victory, indicating that it has an impact on election outcomes. He suggested that voters often press the NOTA button mistakenly, thinking it is a default option. Baghel urged the Election Commission to consider the issue. In the 2018 state assembly elections, over 2 lakh voters favoured NOTA.
