'No slots for 2023': US visa applicants struggle despite embassy appointments

The US embassy in India announced the opening of nonimmigrant visa appointments, but applicants found no available slots for 2023, contradicting the embassy's claim of opening over a quarter million appointments. Users on social media expressed their frustration, stating that slots were not available for this year and even suggesting that appointments were only available for September 2024. This comes after the US embassy set a record number of student visas for Indian students, with over 90,000 visas issued in June, July, and August.
