Chhattisgarh polls: Polling booth established for first time in Chandmeta, naxal-affected village of Bastar

IndiaTimes Friday, 3 November 2023
The first phase of voting in Chhattisgarh is set to take place on November 7. Despite challenges posed by Maoist organizations, progress is being made in establishing polling booths in interior areas of Bastar where voting has not been possible before. Due to improved security and infrastructure development, villagers are now more aware and enthusiastic about voting. Polling stations have been established in previously Naxalite-controlled areas, allowing elderly people to vote for the first time. Confidence in security forces has grown as development and basic amenities have been provided in these areas.
