Chhattisgarh elections: Tight security in place for safe polling in Maoist-hit Bastar

IndiaTimes Monday, 6 November 2023
Comprehensive security measures have been implemented in Maoist-affected constituencies for the first phase of elections in Chhattisgarh. Central paramilitary forces, special police units, and high-tech surveillance techniques will be deployed. Over 600 polling centers will be enclosed within a three-tiered security cordon, and women commandos will play a pivotal role in maintaining order.
