Govt issues draft standards for Advanced Emergency Braking System in buses & trucks to avoid collision
Monday, 6 November 2023 The road transport ministry in India has proposed a draft automotive standard for an "Advanced Emergency Braking System" (AEBS) for buses and trucks. The system would automatically detect potential collisions and activate the braking system to avoid crashes. The AEBS would provide the driver with a warning and de-accelerate the vehicle if the driver does not respond. Additionally, a draft standard for buses and trucks to detect and alert drivers of pedestrians and cyclists in blind spots has also been proposed.
