Won’t be easy for Ajit Pawar to repeat rural success in 2024 polls: Experts

Experts believe that while Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar may have had success in the recent gram panchayat elections, winning the upcoming Lok Sabha and assembly polls will be a bigger challenge. The gram panchayat results do not give a true picture of party prospects, as candidates do not contest on party symbols. Pawar's success in rural Maharashtra indicates his support base, but he will face competition from the NCP's Sharad Pawar faction in the upcoming elections. Additionally, he will need to challenge CM Eknath Shinde's urban-focused approach in rural areas.
