Trial against Nirav Modi, brother to be separated

Observing that speedy trial is the right of accused and they cannot keep languishing in jail without trial, a special court on Thursday allowed the CBI’s plea seeking to separate the trial against fugitive businessman Nirav Modi and his brother Neeshal Modi in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) scam case and proceed against the remaining accused. The judge said that though the extradition proceedings against Nirav Modi are going on in UK, nobody knows how much time it will take and its result.
