11-year-old youngest in country to undergo hip replacement

An 11-year-old girl in Mumbai became the youngest in the country to undergo hip replacement surgery due to a rare joint disease. The girl, Farzana Khatoon, had been in severe pain and unable to move for the past two years. After being misdiagnosed and improperly treated for tuberculosis, she was finally diagnosed with idiopathic chondrolysis of the hip. The doctors at KEM Hospital decided that a hip replacement would be the best option for her.
