Allowing CBI to probe DK Shivakumar in DA case illegal: Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defended the cabinet's decision to retract approval for CBI to probe Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar's alleged involvement in a disproportionate assets case. Siddaramaiah claimed that the previous BJP government did not obtain permission from the speaker to investigate Shivakumar, as required by law. He also mentioned that the order allowing CBI to probe Shivakumar was issued based on verbal instructions from the then Chief Minister Yediyurappa. Home Minister G Parameshwara clarified that the cabinet decision was a correction of a procedural lapse by the previous government.
