In the battle against gender based violence, the Centre has put 'Self Help Groups' in the driver's seat to step up community-level outreach, especially in rural areas, to encourage women facing violence to speak up and seek redressal to secure their rights. The campaign aims to equip the around 9.8 crore women SHG members to strengthen the outreach on gender-based violence.
