Gujarat tech students caught in Gurugram start-up’s ‘loan scam’
Sunday, 26 November 2023 Over 100 students of a prominent Ahmedabad engineering college are caught up in an alleged scam involving a dubious Gurgaon startup that they claim misused documents taken for their employment to take education loans of Rs 2.1 lakh each, something they didn’t know until they started getting bank EMI demands. The total sum involved is over Rs 2.5 crore through loans taken in the names of the 124 students. Gujarat police have so far not registered a case, saying “the offence is civil in nature”.

In a disturbing incident, a renowned social media influencer and YouTuber fell victim to an alleged assault in Gurgaon, reportedly orchestrated by Elvish Yadav, the winner of Bigg Boss OTT, along with 10 others. According to police reports, Sagar Thakur, a 25-year-old from Delhi, was subjected to a brutal attack by Yadav around midnight on Friday. The altercation purportedly occurred at Southpoint Mall on Golf Course Road, where Yadav had summoned Thakur under the pretext of a discussion. However, upon Thakur's arrival at a shop owned by Yadav's associate, he was viciously assaulted without warning.
