Cyclonic Storm Michaung, emerging from a deep depression in the Bay of Bengal, approaches the South Andhra Pradesh coast, prompting advisories and precautionary measures. It is expected to bring heavy rainfall, strong winds, and disruptions. The storm is predicted to have a maximum sustained wind speed of 80-90 kmph, gusting up to 100 kmph. Southern Odisha and the coastal region will experience heavy rains. The state government has taken measures including alerting district collectors, advising fishermen, and canceling leave for field workers. The East Coast Railway (ECoR) has canceled trains, established a helpline, and prepared for restoration.
