25 yrs on, Microsoft IDC bullish on Hyderabad

Microsoft's India Development Centre (IDC) in Hyderabad, which started in 1998, has grown to over 10,000 engineers. A new building, with a built-up area of 1.1 million sq ft, will be operational in 2024. IDC now accounts for half of Microsoft's India headcount and has contributed to products such as Azure, Windows, Office, and Bing. It played a crucial role in projects including Microsoft 365 Mobile, Indian language support, and Azure specialized AI supercomputer. The IDC is leveraging AI and large language models for innovation and impact.
