ZPM high command to meet Lalduhoma over formation of Mizoram cabinet
Wednesday, 6 December 2023 ZPM leader Lalduhoma will be sworn in as the new chief minister of Mizoram. The ZPM won 27 out of 40 seats in the Mizoram Assembly elections, defeating the Mizo National Front. Lalduhoma met Governor Hari Babu Khambampati and staked claim to form the government. The ZPM advisory body will meet to discuss the structure of the new government and finalize the council of ministers. Lalduhoma, an ex-IPS officer, was elected as the leader of the Zoram People's Movement legislature party.

Polling in 102 parliamentary seats across 21 states and Union Territories in the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections commenced at 7 am on April 19 and ended at 6 pm. Over 102 parliamentary constituencies in 21 states and union territories headed to the polling booth on Friday, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Jammu and Kashmir, Puducherry, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. West Bengal recorded the highest turnout till 5 PM at 77.57 per cent, followed by Tripura at 76.10 per cent. Voter turnout in Assam stood at 70.77 per cent, while Manipur recorded a voter turnout of 68.58 per cent till 5 PM.
