UP doctor prescribes Ramayana & Gita to patients along with meds

IndiaTimes Thursday, 7 December 2023
A cardiologist in Kanpur, Dr. Neeraj Kumar, has introduced the practice of offering religious scriptures as a mandatory part of treatment for his patients. He gives patients Bhagavad Gita, Hanuman Chalisa, Sunderkand, and Ramayana to read before surgery and long-term treatment. Dr. Kumar believes that reading religious books makes patients mentally stronger and boosts their morale during treatment. This campaign, started about a year ago, has shown positive effects on patients' health and recovery. Dr. Kumar personally funds the purchase of these books for his patients.
