Thursday, 7 December 2023 Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulates Isro for bringing back Chandrayaan-3 spacecraft's propulsion module from the lunar orbit to Earth's orbit, calling it a technology milestone. Isro successfully detoured the propulsion module from the lunar orbit to the Earth's orbit in a unique experiment. The objective was to ferry the lander module to the final lunar polar circular orbit and separate the lander. The Spectro-polarimetry of HAbitable Planet Earth (SHAPE) payload in the propulsion module was operated. The mission plan ensured collision avoidance and designed an optimal Earth return trajectory for October.
