Expert panel to probe collapse of Silkyara tunnel set up, to submit preliminary report in 10 days

The road transport ministry has set up a panel to investigate the structural collapse of the Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi. The panel will submit a preliminary report on the causes within 10 days and a final report in a month. The committee will also recommend amendments to standard operation procedures and safety measures. The expert team will inspect the site, review project records, and study geological mapping and site conditions. They will analyze the tunnel collapse, identify reasons, and assess future risks.
