Chhattisgarh BJP MLAs to meet in Raipur; suspense over CM could end
The BJP's newly-elected 54 MLAs in Chhattisgarh will hold a key meeting on Sunday to select the legislative party leader, ending speculation on the next chief minister. The party's three observers and other senior leaders will be present. There is no set formula for electing the chief minister, as it follows the BJP's parliamentary board system. The BJP is confident of sweeping the 2024 parliamentary elections in Chhattisgarh after its historic win in the assembly polls. Potential chief minister candidates include tribal leaders and OBC politicians.
